It isn't a bad combo, but you'll find that /Mo may be better.
Advantages of a Necro:
Plague Touch
Plague Sending
Parasitic Bond
Enfeebling Touch
Parasitic Bond at 0 points into Curses will last 20 seconds. Health Degen and works with Black Lotus Strike
Condition removal is good, as is reducing the damage that warriors can do on an Assassin.
/Monks have hard rez, condition removal, hex removal.
/Warriors have stance removal, interupt, stances, wild blow, watch yourself!, etc.
But a good Assassin will not need to use any 2ndary skill.
Hope this helps.

A/N is not bad but other combos can be better. It is a game of skill really unless you get hit with blind 24/7..... Then you are just useless. The skills pick me mentioned are not a bad choice except plague sending imo. If he does not like it he can always change his secondary later in the game anyway.

yes but you'll need high curse spec to have efficient energy management.
ill rather go with a necro to use that

[skill]Rend Enchantments[/skill][skill]Rigor Mortis[/skill] 'I'm using Rigor Mortis on (insert enemy touch ranger)' is a fun announcement to make in AB, much more so than Expose Defenses...
Disadvantages of going /N: no IAS, no heal available

You have to do cold dmg to make it work. You would need energy return on all attacks and high critical attributes and critical eye running. Which with all the new nightfall skills you should be able to do it. Not for ever but you really could piss off an opponent for awhile. Just an idea for necro secondary would for sure need plague touch as well.

Assassin with minions? Brings back memories. I was with an A/N equipped with a staff. I asked why, and his answer was "I wanna play a necro but I don't want to level a character all the way to 20 again". He was using various blood magic skills, such as Vampiric Gaze as well as Deathly Swarm.
Good stuff.
